These giclée prints are reproductions of favorite paintings from my personal collection. All are printed with pigmented, archival inks on smooth-surfaced Hahnemühle rag paper to provide unsurpassed quality with all the subtleties of the original works. Each comes with oversized foam board backing and an informative Certificate of Authenticity. Size includes one inch borders all around.

There is a centuries-deep history of artists making paintings within paintings. The work you see here represents my effort to extend this tradition.
What intrigues me is the tension between the physical size of the painting (measured by a ruler) and its psychological size, your experience of the much larger piece in my virtual Museum. I find pleasure in the magical transformation—a ten-inch-wide painting becoming ten feet (Presto Chango!) in the imagining mind. Paint brushes serving as my magic wands.

Another gallery is adorned these multi-media works. I’ve taken gelatin silver prints made during my earlier career as a fine arts photographer, mounted them on museum board, and secured them to canvas. The walls, floors, and figures are painted in oils.

This series, begun in 1997, represents my earliest break from realistic imagery. I see it as my modern take on the tribal mask imagery that intrigued Picasso. The oil-on-panel works have been supplement by a trio of oil-on-paper/oil-on-canvas pieces to add to my Museum collection.

The series is titled “Arabesques” since, for me, they evoke the colorful, intricate tiles in Istanbul’s Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace that awed me during my visit there many years ago.
Each of the Arabesque paintings were created with oil pastels--some on gessoed paper, some on canvas--in 2018 and 2019. They were "brought into" my imagined Museum in 2022, after that idea came to me. The walls and floors and figures are done in oils.
